About

Hi,

Welcome to the Speak Your Business Blog!

Some people think Speak Your Business is an elevator pitch on steroids.  Some people would be wrong.

An elevator pitch is an explanation of what you do, just in case you’re in the elevator with that CEO and you have to pitch him your fabulous idea in the time it takes to reach the 22nd floor.  People generally think an elevator pitch is a short, interesting explanation of what they do, or the benefits of what they do.

The Speak Your Busines system is short, yes, but that’s where the similarity stops.

It’s not an explanation, it’s not a list of feature and benefits, and it’s actually not strictly about what you do.  The truth is, most of us don't really care what you do, unless it impacts us — emotionally.  If that sounds harsh — do you really deeply care about all 30 people's businesses that you've just met at a networking meeting?  Can you even remember 5 of them?

And remember, I don't care about how much you know until I know how much you care.

The Speak Your Business system is designed to interrupt the idea your listener has already formed about you, to hook their attention, to arouse an emotional response in the limbic system or the lizard brain, and leave them hungry. To leave them wanting more.

You can learn how to do this, with the words you already have (and probably aren’t using), and it can change your business dramatically.  Sometimes within a week or less.

Would you like to effortlessly attract new clients in 30 seconds or less with no visible sales technique? Anywhere. Any place. Any time. You can, and I'll show you how.

With my 17-year background as a high-performance business communication trainer, I'll share tips and advice and resources here on this blog, and you can learn my trademark formula for creating urgency for your professional service or business.
